Flight Directors Austria was founded in 1991 by Heiner Cecerle. In 1992, the company was transformed into a corporation, Flight Directors Lufttransportvermittlung Ges.m.b.H.
In the first decade of its existence, the focus of its activities was on tourism. The company acted with great success as an intermediary between charter airlines and tour operators from all over Europe, and was also able to successfully fulfill orders from overseas.

Due to the emergence of low-cost carriers and a fundamental change in the tourism market in Europe, the tourism business became increasingly less important, while at the same time the orchestra division was able to significantly expand its business volume. On July 1, 2015, Ulrike Winter took over the management of the orchestral flights department after a break during which she successfully completed her studies.
